Photography Question

Cali

Can U tell shutter speed & f-stop used from a pic?

Are there photographers who could tell what shutter speed and f-stop was used by looking at a B/W photo(s)?

...and how to re-create that "look"?

If he or she knows what lens was used, a photographer with a trained eye can get pretty close to determining the camera/lens settings.
As Greg mentioned, this is only a guess...(albeit an educated one.)

  Cali,
To follow up,...Are you referring to an image in particular? Can you upload it here?

(It might be a fun exercise for some to try to figure it out.) :)

A lens's EV allows one to take the same exposure at a variety of aperture/shutter speed settings since these are "proportional."

You can tell a larger aperture because the background may be significantly less sharp. Conversely, smaller openings will produce images with greater depth of field.
