Nikon F5 Serial Numbers I recently picked up a used Nikon F5, and was wondering if anyone has a listing of what year the cameras were manufactured by their serial number. I wrote to Nikon, but they were no help. Mine is Serial Number 3102xxx Thanks Alot Wayne

No idea, but if I had the same question I would head directly over to nikonians.org and post it on the F4/F5/F6 forum. If nothing else you might narrow it down by comparing SNs with other F5 owners.

Call, do not write, Nikon. Since they can, and will, tell you by Serial Number whether the lens is warranteed by USA paaper or gray market, they can tell you the year of manufacturer or, perhaps, the year it was shipped.
