Ideas on pics of boys with their hot-rods I will be taking pics of my teenage son with his mustang. I was wondering if anyone had any unique ideas. I also have an older son that has a monte-carlo and would like to take a few pics of both cars and boys together. I have seen the typical senior portrait pics with cars and im looking for something a little different and unique.

Amanda, I take alot of pics of cars, classic american being my favourite, if you want a shot of the car + owner get them to pose standing near the drivers door maybe with the door open, use a set of diy type steps and climb up to get a higher perspective, this allows you to include the whole car and owner, as your pointing the camera down you can lose ant distracting background horizon and sky. or shoot from a very low angle with the widest angle lens you have and get close + maybe a little fill flash, gives a different perspective than the one people expect to see in car pictures.

Hello Amanda; Guys & their cars..One has to consider what these two words conjur. Now I can't give you ALL possible pose ideas, but here is one "they" may like. Allow them to sit, cross legged on the hood of the car...close to the windshield or close to the forward edge..Try both. Have them fold their arms as this is "defensive" body language..and why not?..are not us guys defensive and protective of our cars? LOL Next..Using a wide angle lens..capture the auto's grill with the badge AND the person sitting on the car. Ideas: I hope you see, there are MANY ways to capture this, but in essence, you are trying to capture the "feeling" not only of the car, but how the person feels and reacts to their car. Final thought: Look at some auto magazines..you might get a few ideas. Happy Shooting, Pete
