complementary colors of film and printing Can anyone tell me the three complementary colors of film and the three for developing? I know one is Red,Blue,Green and the other is Magenta,Cyan, and Yellow. I just don't remember which one belongs to which. Any help is much appreciated.

An easy way to remember is to think of them in a circle. Red's is blue and green together, or cyan. Blue's ia green and red together, or yellow. Green's is red and blue together, or magenta.

Justin, All the answers so far are correct, but I don't think any addressed your specific question. Transparency film is RGB, and conventional photographic color printing is YCM. Color negative film, when developed, I believe, will show YCM, although it is somewhat hidden with the orange masked film. Michael H. Cothran www.mhcphoto.net
