What is the best light? My question is this... When would be the best time of the day to shoot a public building to bring out the building's architectural features (doors, windows,so on ? How do I avoid glares and reflections on shiny surfaces on the building?Also how much of shadows is appropriate? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Tammy

Shoot early in the morning or later in the afternoon when the sun is not shining directly on the building. Alternately, you could shoot on an overcast day. Amount of shadows that is appropriate can vary considerablt. Sometimes shadows can add to a photo, sometiimes they take away. A polarizer can remove the reflections from glass but won't help with metal surfaces.

Thanks Kerry! I thought that the early morning light or late afternoon light would provide better lighting ,just wanted to be sure.Yes shadows can add or take away from the photo,especially overpowering shadows.Thanks for the advice. Tammy
