What lenses fit the Maxxum 5

I need a lens for my newly purchased Maxxum 5 camera body... It usually comes with a 28 - 80 mm F/3.5-5.6. Would a 28 - 100 mm F/3.5-5.6 fit it as well? This is probablly a dumb question but I don't know anything about it yet.

as long as the lens is made for the Maxxum Series Cameras it really doesn't matter what focal length it is. However, the focal length does make a difference in what you want to photograph. a 28-100 is a pretty general purpose lens, but if you want to do much wildlife or anything from a distance you will need more zoom than a 100. I have a Maxxum 5 and I usually used my 75-300 with it unless I was doing closeup work.

Any AF lens made by Minolta, or now Konica/Minolta will fit. In addition, there are some third party lenses that will also fit, and perform quite well.
I would recommend Sigma, Tamron, and Tokina. As long as you stick with these brands, you should be capable of producing wonderful images with your Maxxum.
I'd avoid any lens brands, especially if they are suspiciously cheap, AND made in a third world country.
