Charging a fee for a job

Hi,
I have a customer wishing to have some propertyk photographed so as to submit photos of a property for sale. I have been out of the commercial field some years and rates for work have changed. I would like some suggestions as to what to charge. I will be giving copies of the photos to the customer. However it is understood that I keep the orginals. How should I charge? By the hour plus other expenses and if so what.
I have until the 1st of August to plan wahat I will charge.
Thank you.

Since you were in the commercial field, just charge what you would have charged in the same manner in which you did before and add about 10-25% for cost of living increases. Also, for real estate work, tell the agent you want a commission of 7% of THEIR fee when the property sells. ;>)

Alternatively, since you've got a month to figure this out, join a professional association (if you qualify) attend your local chapter meetings, talk to other members in your particular geographic area, and THEN you can decide.
