Charging For CD/DVDs? Okay, here's the deal: Jessica wants a photographer for her wedding I've agreed this far, it being my first wedding. Problem: and I quote: 'Ideally, we would like our photographer to shoot as many exposures as possible and then give us a disk of all of the images so that we can print out the ones we want and give our families the option to print the ones they would like.' Input and suggestions? Thanks in advance guys! Likah Rue

Hello Likah, Without going into the many problems associated with your question..and there are many; TWO glaring problems I see with this approach are (1) allowing the customer to print from a CD or DVD. What happens when the customer wants 4x6's or 8x10's? 2) As this is your first wedding, do you not want the best possible results for future business and referrals? By allowing the customer to print from a master disc, you have lost all creative post processing control. Just my opinion, but if this were my very first shoot where I am being paid, I would do all in my power to make it my best. $500 is a very low figure for weddings these days, but I do understand we all have to start somewhere. "Under promise and over deliver!"
