Courses

I was wondering if you have to graduate highschool before you can take these courses. Or if you can be a certain age and take it and finish the courses and have a job while you are finishing highschool? If you can help that would be great!

No, just need a credit card.
What do you mean by job? Take a course and get hired for something?

Hi Kayla and welcome to BP! I do not believe that there is any age requirement for taking BP classes. As for you being in high school, I don’t see that as an issue as long as you have the time and dedication necessary for taking on a non-academic class. If you are hoping that by taking a class here at BP, or anywhere else, you will then be hired by someone for a photography job…well, sorry, but that just isn’t the way things happen. If you are hoping for a career as a photographer, this may be a good place to get your feet wet. However, you will need more education than what is offered here (or anyplace online). You might want to look into trying to find some type of informal “internship” position locally. Perhaps a local pro would consider allowing you to shadow him/her while s/he does a job. This can be a great way to learn something about the industry. It is also possible, depending on where you live, that you might find a job as an assistant to someone or even working in a local camera shop while you learn the business. There are, as you probably already know, many good schools, both in the USA and abroad, that offer courses in photography and that can help prepare you for a career. This is all a long way of saying that BP is a great place to start, and where you go from here is up to you. Good luck!

Irene
