Copyright on print? I have a question for those that are doing portrait work. Do you print a small copyright on the picture? I have seen portrait photos with and without it. And if you don't do portrait shoots, what has been your experience? Thanks!

The best place I think to put it on prints is on the back so that when the kid at Walmart goes to violate the copyright, he sees the notice facing him. It really serves no useful purpose on the front. But by all means use it assuming it's copyrighted. Mark

I use adoramapix.com and they print my company name on the back of all prints. Michelle

Thank you both for your responses! I use a local lab that I absolutely love, called Colorado Camera. They have been very helpful, and I have yet to see a better print ;-) Of course, I haven't tried all of them (including adoramapix), but I would be hard pressed to switch labs at this point! Anyway, back on topic... I took your advice. I had some clear labels left over from something else, and used them to print the copyright and reprint contact info, and it worked really well. I realize if they wanted to, they could peel the sticker off, but if a client wanted to "steal" the picture, and have reprints made without my permission, the copyright on the back isn't going to do much good. Thanks again!
