filters I have a Pentax ZX-50 35mm camera with a 28-80mm lens. I am about to purchase a lens filter for it (first time). What size filter should I get for it?

Lawrence, you should be able to see the filter size (which is just the diameter of the front threaded ring of the lens) either on the inside of the lenscap or sometimes engraved on the front of the lens itself. This is measured in millimeters, and since the most common sizes are 52MM, 58MM, 62MM, 67MM and 72MM (there are larger and smaller sizes, to be sure, but these are the most commonly found sizes on general lenses). I hope that helps. You don't mention what KIND of filter you are planning to buy, bt that's a different conversation.
