Flash Brackets/Connecting Cable
I have a Canon Elan 7E and plan to purchase a shoe mount flash very soon. I was just reading a forum topic on flash brackets and realized that I will also need to get a Stroboframe Flash Bracket (wedding photography). I know they accept shoe mount flashes, but I am trying to find out what the connecting cable is called that connects a shoe mounted flash on a camera bracket back to the shoe mount holder on the camera. What are the neccessary accessories for connecting your camera and flash on the bracket?

With the Elan 7E and a deditcated TTL/E-TTL speedlight you will need the Canon Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2 (~$50). There some 3rd party equivalents, such as Promaster TTL Off-Camera Cord, but they are just as expensive.

What if I am using a flash other than Canon brand?

If it is TTL (such as Sigma EF 500), then you still need the Off-Camera Shoe Cord 2. If you have a non-dedicated autoflash (such as Sunpak 383 Super), the TTL cord will work also, or you can also use a simpler, cheaper PC sync cord and hotshoe adapter.
