Problems getting a description in Today is the second time this month I've entered Techniques. We're supposed to give a tip. Both times I spent a LONG time writing up detailed explanation. Both times I LOST that explanation when I tried to finish the upload. Each time I re-wrote it and made sure to get it on my clipboard so at least I would not have to re-compose it. I still had trouble adding it. I finally got the entire thing in for the first entry - much later. I still have not been able to get the last part of today's in. I think there's a serious limit on characters for descriptions - I know that since the most recent "site improvements" you can't do paragraphs or anything that would make what you write more readable. Anyway, I have NO idea what the limit is. But if that's the problem, it's very annoying to have a subject specific category that calls for a description of some length and be unable to add it. I'll try to finish mine out later . . . but I've already tried 3-4 times, so I suspect I've exceeded the magic number. Does anyone else have this problem?

WHEW!! Finally got it in - after shortening even more. I'm sure character limit was at least part of the problem . . . just wish what that was was clear when you were writing (as it is on other sites).

Hi Nikki ... When you want to use a line break in your writing, use < br > without the spaces at the point you wish to break. It works for me.

Yes, you are correct; there is a limit to the length of the string that can be entered into the Description; if the text string is longer than a certain length, it just won't save. I hope to make this clear with a character count (we had that on some pages in the past) but I have not figured out how to recreate this with the newer programming language. Thanks,
