Different characteristics in the 35mm to the 35mm
What characteristics of a 35mm SLR make it different from the rest of the 35mm family?

SLR = Single Lens Reflex The mirror and prism are the "reflex." The "single lens" means the "taking" lens used to make the photograph on film and the "viewing" lens used by the photographer to aim and compose the image are the same lens. What you see through the viewfinder is what you get on the film. All other types (TLR, rangefinder, viewfinder, etc.) have separate "viewing" and "taking" optics.-- John
