Autofocus won't work I have a Canon 70D. It has been working fine since I bought it 6 months ago. Now, the autofocus doesn't work when I press half on the shutter button. It isn't the lenses, because autofocus works on my other Canon digital. I have played with the menu settings and nothing seems to make it work. I lost my manual so I don't understand all of the controls. Either the camera needs repair or I am setting something wrong on the camera - hopefully something very obvious. Thanks, Rob

Highlighted Comment: Also check all of the metal contacts on the lens mount of your 70D in case they've become dirty and aren't making good signal contact with the lens.

Chris/Dalne, Thanks. I downloaded a copy of the manual and have studied all of the settings and reset, but still not working. I also checked the contacts on the lens mount. Did not appear to be dirty. Gently wiped the contacts with a lens cloth. Still not working. Appreciate your responses though and will continue trying to determine the problem. Regards, Rob W.

Rob, Thanks for your response as I had wondered if you had any success. I, too, have recently bought the same camera. You might contact Canonusa about your issue. Keep us posted! Thanks and good luck!

there might be a firm ware update that needs to be done. But since it stopped working all together and didn't stop working in certain situations, might be a motherboard or circuit problem in the camera. Check some forums and see if there are others with the same problem and hopefully your warranty covers fixing it.

Thanks Gregory! Am having the camera checked out a repair shop. It's either a computer problem in the camera or the contacts need to be looked at. Appreciate your response. Rob
