A shot taken during the Pearl Harbor Day anniversary ceremony on the Battleship New Jersey on December 5, 2012.
----
This is a DD entry. On a cropped version of this image: Used two different presets on separate layers in Nik Silver Efex 2 Pro, modified each of them, and then blended them in CS5. When I was happy with the outcome, I shared it with a close friend who said, "But the man in the suit is wearing a "hat!" I had not noticed. YIKES! It was one of the bollards in the water, to which the ship was tied. So I had more work to do to clean that up. And then I discovered a filter called "Dark Contrast" in Nik Color Effex 4 and used a small amount to finish things off.

See, there is a "hat" (the bollard in the water to which a rope from the ship is attached) on the man with the suit. I did not notice it!

The photographer seen in this shot is the leader of our Meetup photography group. I showed him this version and he said, "But the guy in the suit has a "Hat!" Oh NO...How did I MISS that?? He also remarked that this version made the foggy, 50F day appear to be blizzardy, and that HE was the only spectator dressed for cold. So the final version was given more contrast using a touch of the "Dark Contrast" filter in Nik Color Efex 4.

The original cropped version of the image, and the interim version--where I thought I was finished.

Morning neighbor! Nice capture and dd work, Michelle! It's funny how we get so busy concentrating on the outcome that we miss other obvious things.
