I'm a freelance writer/photographer based on the coast of Maine. It all began in 1986 while working as a newspaper reporter whe I lived in Pennsylvania. The editor handed me a camera and instructed me to take a photo to go with my story. My reply: "What button do I push?"

That started a love of photography but it waned when I no longer had access to a darkroom. I got back into it with the advent of digital. I've shot for newspapers, magazines, books, nonprofits, tourism boards and websites. I also do the occasional wedding or portrait. My favorite subjects are cats and nature as well as macro.
