About SHIRLEY MARGUERITE W. BENNETT
In my first year of teaching, I was "told" I was the Yearbook sponsor. And, I was told I would take all candid shots, develop them, and print them...(black and white at the time). What a learning curve I had. I loved taking the photos, so enrolled in New York Institute of Photography. This yearbook mandate began a career in photography in addition to my teaching. I had my own photography studio in Tallahassee, Fl. I have had some very prestigious assignments/jobs, with one being photographing the Florida Legislature (group shot) and another photographing Florida A and M University Stadium when it was totally remodeled. The teaching and photography career both ended in 1999, but I still love to strap a couple of cameras around my neck and take photos for my own enjoyment.
