About Robert Jeanne
I'm a retired professor of biology, with a research specialty in the behavior of social insects (ants, bees, especially wasps), and have used photography to document and illustrate my work. Switching to a digital SLR about 5 years ago motivated me to improve my macro-photography techniques. I've been using a Nikon D200, but recently moved to the D7000. I use 60mm and 105mm macro lenses, plus extension tubes, Nikons SB-R200 wireless flash system. Lately I've been experimenting with various reflectors and diffuser combinations to improve the lighting of my images. Other subjects I find fun include flowers and non-flowering plants.
