Description

Three Northern Pintail Ducks enjoying a quiet time on a berm out in the Cosumnes River Preserve. Every so often a Northern Harrier would fly over and cause a commotion but soon all would calm again and peace reigned.

Leslie, what I love about this image is the subdued color and the great composition. The middle bird is looking to the left, and there are reeds just to the left. This combination of three birds, great subdued color, and wonderful action in the body position of the birds is SUPER! It just makes me smile. It is like watching people on waiting for a bus!
