Vase Distortions [Elements of Design]

f/ 8.0, 1/42 sec., EV +1/3, ISO-200, tripod mounted, ambient light, 09:02 AM, Philadelphia, PA. If you check the shooting information on the majority of my images, you'll see I usually always shoot later in the day and night. My apartment windows face south so I get the morning sun pretty bright. Thes vases has lines running top to bottom in diagonals and when I first held it up to the blinds one day, I was very surprised to see the resulting patterns. I put the vase on top of a black speaker in front of the blinds and shot away. The camera white balance was set on tungsten and I used the chrome setting on the camera to make the colors richer.

Awesome image Rob!! It's a amazing what we can discover doing the simplist of things:-) Good choice on the tungsten white balance too the colours ARE richer - I have to admit I don't know what a "chrome" setting is though - I wonder if I have that LOL LOL #2166888Andi Browning December 08, 2005
