Bridging Time
Uploaded: May 20, 2003 23:02:17
Built in the early 1920s to facilitate the traffic to the gold fields in the interior of Alaska. The road was moved in the 1950s and it is now only a foot bridge for a scenic trail. It was engineered and built in one month and still stands strong. The photo was difficult because I was in the mountain's shadow and shooting into the valley where the sun was shining.

Nice bridge in the notch, Gary! A challenging exposure indeed! Nice work! #103431Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019
Thanks, Dolores :-) I just spot meter on the brightest spot in the background and then push it as hard as I dare to bring out as much of the foreground as possible. Just to be sure I usually shoot a few bracketed shots in this type of situation. #103985Kathleen Clemons May 26, 2019
