Another very nice portraiture, Judy. I am thoroughly impressed with the lens on the C-4040. You certainly do wonderful things with it! #18627Judy Miss Ben Joud May 26, 2019

Thank you Carol. This guy lieves the other side of nowhere, has a goat farm, makes great cheeses, and mostly on weekends sells them. What you see on the photo ,is him with this big knife ,giving tasters to people so one can decide what to buy #41236Cathy M. Gromball May 26, 2019

A great portrait. Perfect depth of field you've managed to achieve, from his hand to the back of his head cloth. A very interesting and kind looking man. #41415Judy Miss Ben Joud May 26, 2019
thank you Clifton #41429Lem Metro May 26, 2019
If you were to replace the C-4040, what would be at the top of your wish list Judy? I have compared so many and about the only affordable alternative I can find is the E-10. Maybe the C-5050 as the price begins to drop. I know you may be thinking digital SLR, but the cost and the fact that any digicam with interchangable lenses requires constant CCD cleaning doesn't make them a viable option for me. #41566Judy Miss Ben Joud May 26, 2019
i dont know the c-5050,but a NIKON i've seen-dont remember the model ,also a Sony -again dont know the model, but if I had the money I bet icould find something I like.Unfortunatly that's not going to happen any foreseeable time #41589Lem Metro May 26, 2019
The Olympus C-5050 is the latest in the line of compact zooms from that company. It offers the same superior f/1.8 lens that your 4040 boasts. But it accepts Compactflash I&II, X-Picture or Smartmedia flash memory, has a 5MP CCD, and retains the great features Olympus has developed as this line of digicams has evolved. Street price, about $700 right now.Nikons CP5700 is nice, but it is still about $1000. Of course the Sony F707/717 get rave reviews, but the huge size and the more limited apeture lens don't make them my first choice. With the C-4040 going for less than $400 if you shop, I really don't see a platform that offers as much for anywhere near the price. #41623
