The Widow Skimmer (Libellula luctuosa) is one of the group of dragonflies known as King Skimmers. The species occurs commonly across much of the U.S. except in the higher Rocky Mountain areas. The female shown here was taken in Fort Worth, Texas, Tarrant Co.
