Decided I would do the monthly challenge BEFORE the end of the month! Had fun with my mothers old jewelry. Also did a few others that were tricky --walnuts, tri-colored peppercorns and a very old pillbox. #1559550Colette M. Metcalf January 14, 2014
Lovely image, Debbie!! #10946610Debbie E. Payne January 14, 2014
Here are a couple of the other ones. I wasn't very successful with any of these. Just comment on either the one that is best or the one that needs the most help. #10946613Kalena Randall January 14, 2014
Oh, Debbie, I love the pearls. That is a beautiful shot! #10946626Debbie E. Payne January 14, 2014
Thanks, Colette and Kalena. It has been a long time since I have gotten a hit on someone out of our group or have you joined us. Colette? I have been somewhat behind in shooting lately. The macro challenge is the first time I have taken any new photos in 2014. #10946638Elaine Hessler January 14, 2014
This is hysterical! I JUST got done shooting my jewelry and I was looking in my spice cabinet too! I didn't think shredded oregano would be that interesting...Beautiful images! Can you share the data? This macro stuff can be tough! #10946673

Too funny, Elaine. Great minds think alike. Will get to that probably tomorrow. I need to catch up with the group. I am in the middle of having not one, but four separate endogenous saphenous vein ablations to fix veins that are not working properly. Over and above what guided laser injections for spider veins. So I am two down, two to go. Will be able to shed the compression hose in early February and will get the go ahead to get back into water aerobics. I don't know what I am doing with the time but every Friday brings a brand new procedure so I basically get up to speed by the time the next one comes and I start over again. Makes me wonder why I'm doing this...Hmmmm..maybe so I can get to the next Phellos meet up and a trip to Cleveland to visit with Allison, you and Rita. #10946770Jeff E Jensen January 14, 2014
Excellent! #10946802Debbie E. Payne January 14, 2014
Here are from the end of the day shoot with my mother's fan. Had fun holding the fan in my left hand, pre-focusing before pressing the button on the camera with the timer while I zoomed in and out with the camera with just enough time to focus and then hold still. I know...I had the tripod in the bedroom with me but this worked better than the static tripod did. #10946864Stephen Shoff January 14, 2014
Gold and pearls. Wonderful combination and composition, Debbie. #10947003Elaine Hessler January 15, 2014
That does not sound like fun Debbie-I hope you are feeling better real soon! Love the fans! More great ideas... #10947135Anthony L. Mancuso January 15, 2014
Nice job Deb...I think the limited DOF works well on Opulence but it could be a little wider on the pill box shot.. #10947172Rita K. Connell January 15, 2014
I agree with Tony on the DOF on the pill box, the pearls are beautifully capture. the fan "its all in the details" is beautiful. looks like you had a fun day shooting. they all look good.Still talking to you..... #10947289

Love the pearl shot, Debbie. For more reasons than one. On our wedding day I gave Betty a set of real pearls and when our grandson got married, I gave them to him to present to his wife as a wedding present. She was thrilled to have something from Betty. #10947775Debbie E. Payne January 15, 2014
One of these days I am going to try the pillbox shoot again.Rita. -- I got home from shopping too late, so will try again tomorrow. #10947801

Love the pearls too Debbie. #10947895Sherran Andersen February 03, 2014
Congrats on the EP. #10965655Debbie E. Payne February 03, 2014
Thank you for your comment, Joanne. I also think it may be weather-related. It is much easier to stay inside and take pictures of jewelry than braving the weather that most of us are experiencing these days.Sherran -- thanks for the Congrats. For over a year now I have intended to do a book of "some of my favorite things". Maybe this year I will accomplish this project. #10965685
