A new exhibit recently opened in Riverhead called Butterflies and Birds. Other than it being 85 degrees inside with the humidity just as high, I was able to capture a few pictures before I was soaking wet!
This one was taken with a 90mm macro and I had to look up butterfly parts to correctly name its curly part.
Exif: F Number: 4, Exposure Bias Value: 0.00, ExposureTime: 1/60 seconds, Flash: fired, compulsory flash mode, ISO: 400, White balance: Auto white balance, FocalLength: 90.00 mm, Model: Canon EOS 50D

Terrific, well-detailed capture, Patricia! I'd have hated the heat and humidity, but I'd love the exhibit! #1390135Susan Weisensel July 03, 2011

Oh, Pat...let me die and go to Butterfly Heaven - this is one fantastic macro! Isn't it amazing what a good macro presents to us that our eyes entirely miss?! This is proof positive that there's more to a butterfly than meets the eye...gorgeous work, LI Gal! :) #9508156Val Feldman August 25, 2011
