Grazing...

----
Last night I came across this scan of a 35mm snapshot that I made somewhere in the English Lake District back in 1981.
---
Back then I had NO IDEA what I was doing with a camera, but I thought it was so fascinating that the sheep were put out to graze in the old graveyard. Seems a wonderful way to share the responsibility of feeding the herd and keeping the burial ground tidy.
-----
Applied some Nik Color Efex Pro filters to give the scene an "old English" look.

Very nice treatment of a very interesting subject. There is something about old graveyards which most people find fascinating. Reading the headstones kind of gives you a glimpse into the past and reveals the stark reality of how lucky we are to have been born in a time of great advancements in medicine as there are far too many old graves with people who had never lived a full life. Had I been born in the 1800's I would not have lived through infancy. #1377594Michelle Alton May 17, 2011

I'm with Greg..It fascinates me to see some of the old graveyards around here. Many aren't kept up so well and the wildflowers take over in the spring, making for some really interesting shots. I think I have one coming up soon. #9408194Gord MacEachern May 17, 2011
Makes for a beautiful scene Michelle!Ron McEwan May 17, 2011
