Red Panda...panting [20858 Animals ]

Taken at the Cincinnati Zoo. f5.6 @ 1/125, tripod, fill flash. This little guy kept trotting very quickly around the exhibit on a well worn path, until he finally had to pause to catch his breath! Just happened to look straight up at me for a quick portrait.

Super capture, excellent detail and colors. I like the way you have him coming in from the URHC. And that little pink tounge. #417186Terry R. Hatfield March 10, 2004

Great capture, Marie! I spend a lot of time at the Cincinnati Zoo, so I know how hard it is to get a good shot of one of these guys! Well done. #419685Eric Highfield March 19, 2004
I think I'm caught up now! I've purposely saved this one to come back to, as it is my clear favourite of the month. You've got several potential winners already this month, but this one has my vote. It's got the colours, the detail, the eye contact, the catch light...it's got EVERYTHING! Most of all, this animal is very timid, even in captivity. I see fabulous bear and great cat photos often (yours included), but this is truly a rare gem (and so is Cathy's, I agree). Great work! Congratulations once again on both of your February finalists! Although there are many great photos this month, I'm confident that I'll be writing this to you again in April after they post the March contest results! #435095Marie Fields March 19, 2004
THANKS so much!!! #435118Stephen Zacker April 12, 2004

Geez... I should quit photography and become a fortune teller!! All of my predictions about your March submissions have come to pass! Here's one more.... I predict this one turning from silver to GOLD!! #483050Eric Highfield April 14, 2004
oops... forgot to mention that it's still my favourite, but I think you've guessed that. How does this one print out by the way? Could rake in a fortune! #483053Eric Highfield April 15, 2004
Still golden in my eyes! Congrats again on a stellar display of photographic skill with all SIX of your finalists!! #485695Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
