bobby I love the b&w and effects with the shot #1064221Bobby R. Strange January 08, 2009
Thanks, Dawn! :) Was the first shot I'd ever done on a mirror, lol. Glad it worked out :) #7002561Paula Showen April 17, 2009

Really lovely, Bobby! #7801023Dale Hardin July 31, 2009
Very cool Bobby and a well deserved award. Like the black and white treatment and the mirror effect worked beautifully. The composition is very unusual though and I see the image totally different. I would have cropped the top to reflect the space at the bottom and deleted the top most leaf on the top right as well as it's reflection. #7801528

Great image and congrats on the finalist Bobby...I'm glad Dale mentioned the crop though, because I agree that is unsual and would like to see his suggestion implemented.... #7801910Bobby R. Strange July 31, 2009
Hmmm, maybe I'll play around with the color version in the different crop and see how it looks :) #7801928Michael Kelly July 31, 2009
Great image Bobby and I agree that the B&W works well and that this is a fine finalist. My very first thought on seeing it though was that the composition is very awkward. I would like to see what you come up with on your color version utilizing Dale's suggestion. It may be however that the judges liked the innovative comp and it does force you to look harder at the shot than a more standard comp might. #7801936Bobby R. Strange July 31, 2009
Honestly, the crop was intentional. I'd seen a dozen similar shots (or more) with the crop you guys are talking about, but not one quite like this. But since I haven't really done anything at all with the color version, I may as well give it a shot and see how it looks :) #7801945Rita K. Connell July 31, 2009
very nice it hard to make any suggestion to it when you got the finalist on it except lovely...congrat's great job Bobby #7802142Ellen H. Robertson August 01, 2009
Stunning, very dramatic. Congrats!!!! #7803135Dale Hardin August 01, 2009
Never had any doubt that your composition was intentional Bobby, and I thought it was a brilliant idea. To get an EP or finalist, you have to capture the eye of the judge and you accomplished that beautifully. #7803921Bobby R. Strange August 01, 2009
Thanks all :) I'm actually pretty curious about what a differently cropped color version would look like. I pretty much went straight to b&w on this one. So I'm gonna go back to the original and play some more :) #7803957Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
