Hi Ann,Peggy Wolff May 26, 2019
This is absolutly amazing! But I don't think I understand it. Did you take several photos and super impose them? Where is the light coming from? Where is he? What are they standing on? I would love more information on this incrediable shot. #89266Ann G. Martin May 26, 2019
Well I am glad you like it! Thank you!Murry Grigsby May 26, 2019
Wonderful work, Ann. It is well composed, lit and just screams ranch life. Well done!! #89272Peggy Wolff May 26, 2019
Ann, I have never seen anything like it! Sounds like a wonderful experience as well! I certainly hope this makes the grand prize next month. Do you submit photos to regular photo competition? I certainly hope you submit this somewhere, it is a step towards your masters. #89283Ann G. Martin May 26, 2019
Yes Margaret I try, I sent picture's but not this one, to Black River Publishing, and had one published ofDebbie S. May 26, 2019
WOW!!! I don't know what to say...They are all beautiful. I hope you can gain the confidence to show some of your images, because others should be able to see them. What a treat! They have an etherial quality without losing the excitement of the action. Awsome! #89321Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019
WOW!!! is right! What a fantastic capture! You did an exceptional job of composing it and the exposure is great! The first one is definitely the best of the bunch for me because of the particular composition, but they are all great! I agree with the others....this should definitely be a winner this month! #89378Elizabeth A. Zibas May 26, 2019
Nice and moody. Fantastic capture. #89392Damian P. Gadal May 26, 2019

Sharon that was my thought as well! Ann, I can't imagine how excited you got when you got your pictures back!? Or do you shoot digitally? Either way! I think this is the best photo that I have EVER seen. #89590Debbie S. May 26, 2019

Thank You Everyone, I am just thrilled to be a finalist, there are a lot of great photographer's that have been picked, I have never won anything really great yet, I won a few first place's at the fair, but would love to win something special just once, but your comment's have been so great that I am just so happy with that, that if I don't win I will keep trying, thank's again #101443Juliane Morris-Lusk May 26, 2019

Congratulations on your win, Ann. It's an excellent image! #103785Katherine Chan May 26, 2019
Congrats on your win, Ann! Actually all four here are great shots! Hope to see more of your winning shots soon! #103846Peggy Wolff May 26, 2019
I can NOt believe that this didn't win the grand prize, but it is still my favorite all time photo EVER. I love the fact that this photo was taken by someone who obviously knows photography and not just someone using a point and shoot camera and got lucky on some shot of their kid or pet. This photo obviously took a ton of work to set it up. I am equally as thrilled that this was not put together in PS, it is a photograph in the purest form. Its what photography was meant to be. I for one do not think that this got the proper recogintion it deserves. But it is a winner in my book! Thank you for sharing this amaazing photo with us! #103899Kathleen K. Parker May 26, 2019
This is one of the most wonderful pictures I have ever seen. Congratulations, Ann.Penny Steiner May 26, 2019
I saw this photo and couldn't believe your story about how you shot the photo. They are all so wonderful and the way you got to shot them was the best. Congrats. #103932Gary H. Minish May 26, 2019
I concur with Margaret, Ann. This should have been no less than a First Place. It's still there in my ratings :-) Congratulations on your win! #103950Jeff Galbraith May 26, 2019
Congratulations Ann,Daniel B. McNeill May 26, 2019
Hi Ann, Words can not explains how great the Bucking Bronco photo is, to me it's a FIRST PLACE WINNER. #104088Dolores Neilson May 26, 2019
FIRST PLACE WINNER TO ME TOO, ANN! THis is different, lovingly photographed and the lighting just blows the kbs out of many images here!! A winner to me! #104096Ann G. Martin May 26, 2019
I am also disappointed, I don't really know what they want, I guess the judge's like manipulated photo's more then the real thing, oh well, live and learn I reckon, I will keep trying, I will have a different e-mail after this week, but I so enjoy this photo contest, just getting feedback help's a lot, I guess I will put in a little bit of everything and see what happen's, and good luck to you all too, thank's for giving me your input and making me feel better - Ann #104192Murry Grigsby May 26, 2019
I can't stay silent any longer. Ann your photo is terrific. Is it the best out of March's 6000 plus entries? I think you and your well wishers are giving the judges a bum rap. The GP winner is crystal clear, also a wonderful photo and not manipulated with PS. Most of the winners weren't. As a matter of fact Kenneth had another entry that could have won the Grand Prize. I also got discouraged (among other things) and almost quit posting at BP. But I'm glad I didn't or I would have missed your wonderful image as well as the other winners and I would miss all the give and take from the BP family. So hang in there!! #104223Debbie S. May 26, 2019
Ann, it should have gotten 1st, manipulation or not manipulation....it is an incredible image that stands out from the rest. I'm so happy that I'm not the only one who feels this way. #104233Ann G. Martin May 26, 2019
Well Murry, it's like this, some picture's that are crystal clear, does not necessarily make them good picture's, some picture's like painting's give you an impression, I like sharpness in some, but softness also can make a great picture, take a look at the painting's in a gallery, none of them are sharp, and most you have to stand back to look at, right?Murry Grigsby May 26, 2019
My comments were in no way critical of your photo--as a matter of fact I think it is wonderful and would have placed it first in the animal catagory. I guess the point I was trying to make was that this is a contest judged by a committee trying to pick one BEST photo out of over 6000 so your odds are pretty slim of having the GP winner. You shouldn't be discouraged!! Enter the photo on other sites and competitions and it will win. I do take exception to you saying that a manipulated photo is not the real thing. I see no difference in manipulating a photo in PS than using darkroom teqhniques, filters, zoom lenses or for that matter shooting in controlled areas like zoos, game preserves, etc. I'll shut up also :0) I love "bucking Bronco" and the other photos from that series and look forward to seeing more of your fine images. Regards--Murry. #104297Barbara K. Breitsameter May 26, 2019
You work blew me away Ann! You are an inspiration to us all. I am looking forward to seeing more of yours in the winners spot. Congrats! #104453Cathy M. Gromball May 26, 2019
Congratulations on your Second Place win, Ann! Your work is excellent, and I love all the photos you've posted! Just to add my two cents, I understand what Murry's saying. I get discouraged, too, but then I look at the big picture and see how many entries there are each month, and what a tough job the judges have, trying to narrow it down to the winning entries. I guess that's why I love the comments section, because I can feel good about some of the photos I post when there is positive feedback, and I have grown as a photographer by receiving constructive criticism. So, it's all good! I hope this doesn't seem preachy or anything. It's just the way I feel. Keep up the great work!Cathy :) #106266
