Camera panning during exposure, of the West Rose Window at Washington National Cathedral.
Applied slight motion blur in PSE2 to "smooth out" the lines of color a bit.

Thank you all, Doc, Melissa, Paul, Michelle, R&A, Adilson, Ceasr & Judy! I wasn't planning to enter this, but since my "Waveform" made Finalist, I revisited the idea... this was earlier along the "tweaking path" that led up to "Waveform". #3514771Janine Russell October 28, 2006
Chris, excellent colors and lighting. #3515552Chris Budny October 29, 2006
Thanks, Janine... I love the colors that show up in this, almost unexpectedly! #3517577Chris Budny October 30, 2006
Thank you Angela... I'd tried it once before, without the vertical application of a little Motion Blur, and it just wasn't as cool as this! #3524723Stan Kwasniowski October 31, 2006
Chris, wow, now this is going to be a winner for sure #3529852Chris Budny October 31, 2006
Thanks, Stan... it is kinda similar to my "Waveform" that made Finalist in September's contest, so I dunno... I like your prediction, though!! #3529888Don Johnson November 17, 2006
Chris -- I like this image. It is very "cool." Since it is a abstract, did you try turing it upside down. Not sure if that would make this wonderful image any better, but I guess it might be a worth a try. #3598559Chris Budny November 17, 2006
Thanks, Don... your zoom images were the inspiration for this. I did an earlier version of this, 180-degrees opposite, but without the smoothing effect of the Motion Blur application. ("Light Curtain" is that image.) I like this version better, as it reminded me of a lit water fountain, and therefore seemed to make more sense "pointing up" rather than hanging down... but yes, being abstract, it could really go anyway at all. #3599389Sharon Day November 22, 2006
This is an awesome display of light and camera effects, Chris! #3617737Dennis Flanagan November 23, 2006
