Bald Eagle [Contest Finalists August 2006]

This beautiful Raptor was in an outdoor open enclosure giving me a great view and even better photo oppertunity. Later, I saw her fly and it was a fantastic sight at such close quaters. It was raining lightly when this was taken and you might just be able to make out the streaks of rain droplets in the background.
100-400 mounted on a monopod, fill flash. 1/160th @ f/5.6, ISO 200, RAW.

Beautiful! How do you like using a monopod? I just got one and I'm finding it hard to discipline myself to use it. I can see though by this image that I'd get much sharper prints if I'd just use it! #3205334Robin R. August 25, 2006
