With Two Suns... [Contest Winner Pool March 2006]
Uploaded: March 30, 2006 03:35:27
Playing around in PSE2; used Distortion Tool to the minimize tilt effect visible in the columns, then mirrored original image (left side) to create this impossible cathedral nave.

Nice depth of field and wonderful shining colors. Great use of effects. #417695Chris Budny March 30, 2006
Thank you, Kerby! I'd love to see the cathedral with light like this, in reality! #2590141Cindy Paquette March 30, 2006

Thank you, Cindy! I want to reshoot the same shot next fall (when the sunlight does this amazing show!) now that I know more about my camera. Not sure what happened, Lynne Hoad, with your message. I was notified of it, but it is attached to a different Photo ID than this thread:
"Gorgeous image Christopher, for playing around, it's an exceptionally beautiful and clever shot. Love the colors too!!"
Anyway, thanks again! #2590371
Brinn MacDougall March 30, 2006
I'm always in awe of your indoor shots, Chris..love the colors and design! #2591267Chris Budny March 30, 2006
Well, thanks, Brinn! This one I think is a tad too dark in the ceiling, but if I opened it up in the shadows, I'd lose that amazing color pretty fast... :( #2591926Dee Ann Young March 31, 2006
Wonderful image, striking quality and color! #2596113Chris Budny April 01, 2006

Way to go, Christopher!! Love the wonderful "glow" look to the columns, merged into the dark background! Nice work!! Congratulations on the recognition from the judges! #2690377Chris Budny April 26, 2006
Thanks, Tamera, Shaon & Brian! This started as one of my very early shots (since starting with a digital camera) and it took me this long to think about "mirroring" it. Would be something else to walk in and actually ever see this kind of effect! #2692046Don Johnson April 26, 2006
Chris,A beautiful shot. Congratuations on your two winners this month! #2692611
Chris Budny April 26, 2006
Thank you Don! I liked the original, but was never 100% satisfied with how dark the ceiling was, for a "stand alone" shot... however, that darkness turned out to help me blend the mirror-image in with the original, I think, for this image. #2692970Sylvia Rossler April 26, 2006
Chris the result is amazing !! No wonder it became finalist !!! Bog congrats again :O) #2694467Corinne M. Thompson April 27, 2006

Wow, Chris! This is just awesome. What a great idea and I love the color! #3064155Chris Budny July 23, 2006
Thank you, Lorri! It lent itself very well to a mirror treatment, to "complete" the gothic arch suggestion. #3065155Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
