Carol, I recommend resizing to 800 pixels on the large side. If you have a pano, size width to 800 pixels as the peak number. If a portrait/vertical, size length to 800 pixels. BP's process will downscale any image above 800 pixels, to 800 pixels. For example, if you upload an 800 pixel photo and the exact same image, higher resolution at 2000 pixels, BP will downsize the 2000 pixel one to 800 pixels. It's easy to confirm this; just upload one at 800 and another at 1600...or 2000, and compare. Years ago, BP suggested uploading at 800 pixels, although I believe their web site says 1600 pixels. At one point, I thought BP was going to allow for higher-res displays but they never did. And perhaps that's still on the horizon. Long story short...size at 800 pixels...plus sharpen a tad. Otherwise, the BP process will downsize to 800 pixels anyway.

Thanks so much for the info Ken. It is helpful! Always wondered why my photos looked so different after uploading. Can you tell me what resolution you use also?

Carol, I use 240 DPI. No specific reason; it's my default for my image sizing. I've never experimented uploading a photo at 72 DPI versus 100, versus 240. Nikki's photos certainly look great at 72 DPI.
