First Photography Class Am about to take my first photography class so I can better capture on film what my eye sees, especially the way light reflects off of the world. Want a point and shoot for quick shots, but have heard there are combos that do point and shoot, but can also be used as a manual once I know how. Any suggestions would be welcomed.

If you're not on a limited budget, there are some sure shot quality ones on the market like Nikon F60, Canon EOS300 or Minolta Dynax (don't remember the no.). Little cheaper bodies of the same brand is also available if you check out with the dealer. These cameras has got settings of Auto i.e. point & shoot, portrait photography, night photography, landscape & manual settings like fully manual modes of aperture, shutter & focus, shutter priority, aperture priority etc. Whatever mentioned with Nikon lens of 28-105 will set you off at rocket speed into serious photography & casual photography - not to mention the feature of macro photography in this system. Worth a buy if we can afford it.
