How can I see photo data on my computer I can see each individual photo's data on my camera before downloading them to my computer, but once they are on my computer, how can I view that data? I know it will be great learning tool to be able to view a photo's data as I view it on my computer.

Ralph In any program, (Lightroom, aperture, I photo...) you should beable to view the meta data. In there should be your exposure, settings, type of lens ... Look for the option and the information should be there. Joe

Which computer platform are you on? (Windows/Mac?) On Mac, in Finder, if you hit CTRL-I on a photo, you get some of the meta data. (The Mac also lets you create search folders based on some of that meta data, so you could find, say, all f/4 photos.) Also, the software that came with your camera (say, Canon's D.P.P. software) should display all the meta data, too.

I have Windows 7 and save my photos as jpegs, but for me it works to just right-click on a photo (whether on the desktop or in a folder somewhere) and then choose "Properties" from the popup box to see the settings, camera model, etc.

I do the same as Monnie..Right click, go to properties and then to details and it's down a little ways on the scroll.

Joe, I use PhotoImpact Pro, but was unable to find any option for viewing meta data...it could be I just missed it though. Christopher, I am using Windows XP, and I will look at the software that came with my Nikon D80. Monnie & Carolyn, Thank you, I found it. With Windows XP,I had to right click on a photo, choose properties, choose summary, then choose advanced. I looked there before, but had not clicked on advanced. Thank you all very much! Ralph
