In Rome, 2000. Wow. What can you say? Awe inspiring.

The lighting does hurt this photo. There are several options available for shooting in lighting conditions such as this:
1) Bracket shots in 1/2 increments 1 full stop over and under proper exposure
2) Use a graduated ND filter and angle it appropriately
3) Capture the image in different lighting conditions.

Thank you both. And you're right. The lighting is not very good. It was taken in a rush as we were being herded thru the sites in Rome, which is sad. We only had one day, but there was just something so dramatic about it to me that I had to have the shot. Also, the scanned image is quite a bit darker than the actual photo, sadly. I think that for me, it was an inspiring shot because of the history and the feeling of the past that was on everything around us.Michelle Campbell September 06, 2001
I forgot to mention that I took this picture with one of those little Kodak Advantex point and shoot jobs. I thought for that little camera it did well. #974Michelle Campbell September 06, 2001

Yes, you are right. Quick shots on small throw-away cameras, or even point and shoots can be difficult under tough conditions.Cheers,
