I Park for Pink
Uploaded: November 24, 2003
I had to park and shoot this shot, just to show everyone what the commuters at Valdez have to put up with.

Here's a zoomed version with only one tree. I had a hard time deciding which should be the entry. Did I make the right decision? #76971Colette M. Metcalf November 24, 2003

I like the top one, too, Gary, how can you keep your eyes on the road and what a great way to start (and end) the day! #279718Theresa McCloskey November 25, 2003
beautiful - love the pink in the sky - I like both of them - lovely shots :-) #279793Murry Grigsby November 25, 2003
I like your entry choice the best also, Gary. It has terrific balance and depth! Wonderful light and colors. Beautiful commute!! Houston is like this too except you must substitute a car, bus or truck every place you see beauty in your image :0) #280148Gary H. Minish November 25, 2003
Carol; Even after living here all my life I still find myself driving on auto pilot as I gaze at the scenery! Fortunately the traffic is generally pretty light, so I manage to survive :-) Thank you for commenting!Theresa; We get pink sunsets and sunrises quite frequently this time of year due to the very low angle, but I don't get very many opportunities to shoot them. Since the sun rises around 10:00AM and the sun sets around 4:00PM, I'm still at work most days :-( Thanks for the kind words :-)
Murry; I'm familiar with those Houston commutes, but I seem to remember a whole lot more vehicles on the road and I believe the temperature was somewhat different! Thanks for taking the time to leave the kind words :-) #280234

Thank you all...I appreciate your kind comments and wish that I had more time to keep up with the contest and everybody's entries. I particularly miss seeing all the awesome photos that you all produce on a regular basis. I've been experiencing severe withdrawal pains without my daily fix of inspiration :-( #308236Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
