Hi Ken,

I just wanted to say how much I like this photo. It is really beautiful! Some of my favorite times with the camera have been out in the middle of the night. It is really surprising the different worlds you can discover with the long exposures.

Keep up the great work! #87

Ken,
This is beautifully done. Composition is excellent. It undoubtedly required patience and timing; not only for a full moon (or very nearly one) with cooperative weather, but for the moon to rise to a proper distance above the water for powerful placement in the image (rule of thirds).

Well done!

Something else to watch for when taking shots of the night sky is the rotation of the Earth: the stars/moon will appear as a streak in the photo if the exposure is too long.

This depends upon the latitude you are at and the elevation on the heavenly object.

It can also make some stunning shots itself. #357
