Love this! Great DOF and I think the diagonal works well. :) #10343704Jeff E Jensen September 27, 2012
Thanks, ladies.Debbie - this was at Arlington. #10343758

It's a good shot, but it makes me want to see more of the design of these hinges! Have you thought of a square crop for this one? I know...shocked that I would suggest such a thing right? lol :~) #10344001Jeff E Jensen September 27, 2012
How's this, Aimee? #10344015Jeff E Jensen September 27, 2012
And, your square crop. . . . #10344021Michael Kelly September 27, 2012
This is a great shot Jeff. Puts your pension for the off kilter to a good use. I like the dark line of the space between the door and frame leading you through the shot. DOF looks good with the one hinge sharp and the other two becoming echos.I like the square crop as it pulls in the subject tighter and simplifies the shot. #10344148

I actually like the original one best it takes us on passed the hinges very nicely. Love your diagonal pov and your dof. great shot.hinge 2 really like the texture you capture on that one #10344155

Where in Arlington was this? #10344190Jeff E Jensen September 27, 2012
It was in the area where we saw the funeral procession. It was behind the big building that was the original estate house. Thanks Rita and Mike! #10344244

I like the 2nd edit the best with just the hinges and wood, I think the texture and design of the wood really complement each other. Was this on a door on a side of something or more like the top of a cellar. Just wondering #10344284Jeff E Jensen September 27, 2012
This was a cover over the well (I assume). The building in the background is the museum that was past the garden. I think the bathrooms were that way?? #10344286Aimee C. Eisaman September 28, 2012
Thanks so much for the better view! I wonder how old they are and if they were hand made. I think the square crop is great for this one! :~) #10344678Dale Hardin September 28, 2012
I favor "hinges 2" because of the detail and depth of color. I like things a bit darker and sharper. #10345520Peter W. Marks September 29, 2012
Hi Jeff, 'hinges original' does not work for me at all. There does not appear to be any real point of interest as the leading lines of the planks taking us to the rather featureless white building and the hinges with their ends clipped off aren't to my mind photographically strong enough to hold my attention and curiosity either.Kristin Duff September 29, 2012
Jeff, I love your take on the world but sometimes your photos make me dizzy! Maybe that's my vertigo and not your issue...as for my take , I like Hinges 2. #10346789Jeff E Jensen September 30, 2012
Thanks, everyone! Here's a final version for you, Peter. I think this does a better job of focusing the attention on the hinge. #10347951
