Wild and Pure [Contest Finalists January 2006]

I can't resist photographing these birds when I see them in the perfect frame for this kind of photo. Taken in RAW, a fairly dark background allows you to increase the shadows wihout affecting the pure whites in the bird. To me, it turns ordinary into extraordinary :)

WOW - what an EXTRAORDINARY capture AND image, Sandy!! I really L-O-V-E everything about this one...but the backlighting makes this PERFECT for me!! VERY well seen, taken AND presented!! :o)Phil and I enjoy trying to capture these birds too, here where we live near beautiful Lake Macquarie (NSW, Australia), but we've NEVER managed to capture a GORGEOUS image like this one of yours!! BRAVO...and keep up the GREAT work, Sandy!! :o) #377131
