Nice job, love this capture. Was this part of a Jail at one point? #115525John Connolly April 08, 2004
Thank you Karen for your interest and comments. Yes it was a Jail, and was also used as an "enemy alian internment camp" for the duration of world war 1. Today it is a Museum. #469597Karen R. Rubeiz April 09, 2004
You certainly did a great job of turning something that used to be so "ugly" into something so beautiful. Really like the way you captured this. #470471John Connolly April 09, 2004
Karen, it certainly is a great photographic site to visit, with a huge amount of possibilities. I will try and send a couple of other photos of the jail. #471278Karen R. Rubeiz April 12, 2004

Thank you Karen for taking the time to comment on my photos. This prison was specifically constructed to hold prisoners so they could carry out public works in the district. One such project was to build a granite seawall, but this was never completed as rough seas washed most of it away. #478226Kasia Elser May 14, 2004
