Overt the past couple of days, it's either been snowing or too dark and dreary for much outdoor shooting. So, I decided to buy myself some little "toys" that I could use for still life set-ups. I found these plastic napkin rings in a dollar store nearby. (Yes, they cost exactly $1.00 for a set of 6.) I took advantage of a sunny break in the early afternoon yesterday to experiment with the rings on a sheet of white paper lit by a southwest facing window. This is one of the series of shots (about 100!) that I took over the course of an hour or so. Only about 6 of the shots turned out realtively well. Still, I was quite happy with the result of my hour's work and mini investment. Lens: Canon 17-85mm f/4-5.6 USM IS. Aperture priority; ISO 100; FL 72mm; f/14, ss 1/60, -.33EV Shot in Raw, coverted in Raw Shooter Premium, edited in PS CS 2. Because there were grey areas on the background from shadow areas on the white paper, I selected the whole background and used
