Uploaded: January 16, 2006 23:16:39
aperture f-8, shutter 1/125, lens - 50mm, location - downtown Santa Fe, New Mexico. The town is full of magical places to photograph. You can feel the history and sense the way art has become a way of life.

I stayed in Sante Fe for a winter when I first started shooting....I wish I had know what I know now back then, because I missed so many great shots...Some day I will have to go back :-) It was the most magical place to be during the Christmas season, well anytime...This is a great shot! I love window photos and this is special! #375963Gunther Allen January 16, 2006
Definitely get back there if you can Jill! You have to go to the Shidoni foundry and make sure to have your camera ready! Walking down the canyon drive and art walks makes you want to move there. Everyday things like window take on a whole new meaning. They illuminate with colors and textures so different from the ticky-tact homes of suburbia. It is like when you walk the streets in Europe and sense history all around you. #2296610Rob Bishop January 17, 2006
This is just fantastic, Gunther! I really must get there sometime. #2296637Evy Johansen January 17, 2006

I have been to Shidoni many times :-)The Tesuque Glassworks is cool too, to be able to watch them blowing beautiful pieces of glass, and I love that little market up the road for lunch and then on to the Flea market :-) #2405392Gunther Allen February 11, 2006
Hi Jill-Yes, I've also watched the glass being blown. It is an amazing place and I love all the art that is on the grounds. I haven't been to the flea market yet, but I'll be sure to check it out next time. I'm due for another trip there! >:-) #2406728

Very nice combination of tones and textures. The bird makes an unexpected, but pleasing counterpoint. #2458811Tammy Scott February 24, 2006
