This is oh so nice, Scott. Beautiful pastel sky, compelling wave action and the sunlit gull wings paint a picture just as the title suggests. Wonderful! #22938Joy Brown May 26, 2019

Thank you everyone for your wonderful comments; however I must set the record straight. I inserted the gull from another photo using Photoshop. The Gull was much closer in the other photo so I shrunk it down to get the right perspective for this shot. The light on the wings was due to the near sunset time that the original was taken. The wings should really have a redish tone to them for this photo but I could not get Photoshop to let me shift the color on the layer I had the gull on. I am new at Photoshop (just got it Friday), but give me a week or two and I will get it down. Thanks again for your support of my work. My website shows the original photo without the gull.
Best regards,

Nicely done, Scott. Some of the PS functions will not work on 16-bit TIFFs so the first thing I do is change my 16-bit Tiffs to 8-bit TIFFs. Your composite looks good. #54333Lem Metro May 26, 2019
Whatever you did, it worked, Scott. Expect to continue the learning process with PS for years to come. #54430Mette Vendelboe Allison May 26, 2019
Very well executed. I thought that gull looked a little bit suspicious.... The gull really makes the difference....nice! #54453Scott W. Pierson May 26, 2019
Murry, Thanks for the tip. I will check it out. I think I was in a jpeg format at the time though. I may have to save in PDD or tif first.Mette, Another thing that makes the gull suspcious is also the fact that in order to get the motion feel on the waves the shutter speed was slow. A real gull in the shot would be a blur. I know because I got a few of them. Here is an example with about the same shutter speed. #54962

I had to start over because I had only saved as jpeg, but was able to darken and red shift the color on the gull. I also made him a little transluscent so that the white would pick up a little of the red behind him. Here is the resulting picture, which one looks better? #55047Scott W. Pierson May 26, 2019
