Great shot Sharon! I like how you've created the theme and set the mood.

Thanks, Cathy - I made this one for Tony Sweet's course and our assignment was "mood." I think it works though I guess I could have lit the bottom a bit more. #23613

You definitely achieved in setting the mood. I like the warm lighting by the candles. I have some suggestions not about mood or lighting, but composition. Don't know if that matters since the assignment theme is mood! LOL But maybe pulling back a bit and showing more of the glass and bottle. Then maybe laying the flower in front of them on its side. I like odd numbers in composition with still lifes. I would almost like you showing the size difference of these three items, with the wine bottle being the tallest, then cascade to the left, lower with the wine glass and then back right with the rose at the bottom. #23646

You certainly seduced me Sharon ;-) The warm soft light and the focus on the rose worked very well to create the mood for me. Very nice! #23675

Shelley - thank you for your suggestions, I do appreciate them. I did this shot many ways including how you suggested (though I used 2 glasses in my wider shots) but I ended up liking this one the best partly because I like the intimacy of it and also because I liked the way the candle reflected in the bottle. I felt the wider shots looked more like advertisements for the wine than the intimate setting I was trying to create. I really do appreciate your comments though! #23716
