Another view of Glamis, this time in colour, the late Queen Mother's childhood home. We were not allowed to take photos inside unfortunately, wish I could have had a picture of the main dining room, it was awesome! Incredible ceilings with the family crests, a huge ornate fireplace, family portraits, and an enormous silver galleon as the centrepiece on the table - they rent the room out for weddings so if anyone is planning to get married....:)

Yet another beautiful castle capture, Ann!! They just don't build them like that here in the US!;-) #288385Elisabeth A. Gay August 03, 2005
Thanks Goshka, well they had centuries of practice in Scotland :) - this one was started in the 14th century, and had several wings added on with different generations of the family. #1672407Deb Holmes-Hatfield August 03, 2005
Ann, I thought I had commented on this wonderful image, but somehow my comment seems to be no where!!!Shelly A. Van Camp August 03, 2005
Ann, love this!!! Beautiful and thanks for sharing your trip :) #1672581Mary Clarke August 03, 2005
Another lovely photo Ann. I think you and I saw very different sides to Scotland but it seems to be that all sides sparkle! #1672749Jenny Bosmans August 03, 2005
Love the framing on this beautiful view, Ann!! Glamis is a great castle indeed! Do they still have peacocks walking around there? #1672996Elisabeth A. Gay August 03, 2005
Thanks Debbie, Shelly, Mary and Jenny -No I didn't see any peacocks. Both times that I have visited this castle they were holding their annual vintage car show, though, with crowds of people there. I had to clone out a few in this photo! #1673014Ermanno Radice August 03, 2005

Very lovey scenic shot, Elisabeth! #1673682Elisabeth A. Gay August 03, 2005
Thank you Ermanno, Linda, Bill & Terry - it really is a beautiful place, incredible and priceless works of art, decor and history. I didn't think to ask about photos being taken of a wedding party! I think they use the photo ban as a means to make more money, as they sell a very nice glossy brochure with pictures of the interior in it. #1673725Elisabeth A. Gay August 03, 2005
And thank you too Tammy, you posted just as I was writing my response! #1673731Dan Holm August 03, 2005

This is a outstanding shot, I took a tour of this castel about 3 years ago, loved it. One can only wonder what it would be like to live in it. #8882727Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
