A friend who is an experienced moto x rider doing a wheel stand and heading for me while i took the shot. then edited it in ps6 to give it more impact.

Hi Kim thankyou for your kind comments. I too like action shots and the motion effect.With this shot I was standing in the path of the bike (it was all planned out carefully and my friend is very experienced at moto x)because of the front on shot there was no motion effect. so I decided to give it more impact by digitaly giving it motion. I opened up the photo in photoshop 6.0. I then applied a mask over the picture and carfully selected the rider and bike,after the selection was complete I inverted the selection so that when I selected the motion blur only the area around the rider would be affected. I then selected a radial blur filter using the zoom setting at 40% and applied it. That is how I done it. I hope this has helped, I have taken motion shots by panning the camera with the moving subject using a slower shutter speed and got the motion effect without using any digital effects:).Cheers!!
