Missed by Storm [Contest Finalists June 2005]

Captured on HWY S somewhere between Jim Falls and Chippewa Falls Wisconsin. Bogen Tripod. 28mm lens. While driving, the rainbow reached higher underneath the swirling white and gray clouds. By the time I set up, it was barely noticable. Lucky me, the sun came out behind me, helping me with lighting.

The lighting gods were with you this day Tony :-) Terrific composition and the red bit of the barn really draws the viewers eye into the photo and then we immediately see the rainbow! Well done! #266329Lori S. Aschbrenner June 20, 2005
This is a gorgeous image, Tony. I love the lighting on the all powerful red barn, with the dramatic clouds in the background and just the touch of rainbow. Magnificently captured. #1493995Tony Wilder June 20, 2005

Great shot - you were also lucky enough to get a red barn and a rainbow all in one shot! #1495200Karen E. Michaels June 21, 2005
I like these "after the storm" colors Tony. Peace, karen #1495674Tony Wilder June 21, 2005
as far as getting a red barn and rainbow in frame together, luck was not a factor.I drove 40 miles to find the farm. We had thunderstorm after thunderstorm, and I shot 5 different farms on the same strip of hwy with the same cell. The Rainbow was always there.
Thanks everyone.
My hard efforts have paid off, look slike. Plus with gas about $450 a gallon here, lol, it makes it all worth while:) #1496732
