Taken with 24 - 105mm lens with IS activated. Settings f22, 1/160, ISO 200. I believe these are the original pumps that was at this station when I was growing up (and the price is still set at 31 9/10's a gallon)! I am getting old! <><

Wonderful find and capture, Shirley!! B&W is perfect for this image!! I actually remember my dad complaining about the price when it hit 27 cents!! #11531391Shirley D. Freeman October 28, 2016
Thank you, Teresa. I think I remember the prices actually being around 19 cents, but since I was a kid, and I didn't realize how the price was affecting us, I could be wrong. I am sure my dad complained to as the prices kept rising. <>< #11531457Claudia Kuhn October 29, 2016

Great B&W shot, Shirley! I remember those days, and the sometimes "gas wars", where it might drop to 16 or 17 cents. <>< #11531737Shirley D. Freeman October 29, 2016
Thank you, Chuck. Wow, I don't remember it quite that low. Price wars, huh? I didn't realize they had them until later years. I thought B&W was more suited for the era. Again, thanks, I love hearing from all of you. <>< #11531852Nancy L. Green October 30, 2016
I really love the use of B+W Shirley, great blast from the past!! I actually remember gas @ $0.25 during gas wars, WOW! <>< #11532171Shirley D. Freeman October 30, 2016
Thank you, Nancy. I guess where I lived there weren't enough gas stations to have a "war"! We were blessed to live in the time that we did. <>< #11532236Micky Cleveland October 31, 2016
It is a blast from the past only it was 20¢ a gallon. You presented it perfectly. 👻 #11532578Shirley D. Freeman October 31, 2016
Thank you, Micky. I think I remember it being 20 cents, but I am not positive, since I was too young to be buying gas. <>< #11532603Rudi Reiner October 31, 2016

Congrats on the staff fav, Shirley! The low prices & gas wars were late 50's, early 60's, in El Paso, TX. #11542016Sign up for an interactive online photography course to get critiques on your photos.
